COMING OF AGE ESSAY

I really think that my "Coming of Age" essay is definitely strong on ideas. Writing this essay gives the reader new insight or knowledge based off of my own experience. It goes from a normal situation/story to showing how I resolved my problem and dealt with it. This essay is a "lesson learned" type of story that gives the reader pieces of advice and ideas for future experiences.

       "There’s nothing in the world that can trouble you as much as other people’s thoughts and opinions. Before making any decision, asking others to confirm my decision gave me more certitude that “no, you’re not making a really dumb choice” and that whatever I chose to do would not upset anyone. But what I never realized was that I was basically setting myself up for making decisions based on peer pressure.  It’s habitual to listen to your family members, parents, and teachers. But my older sister have always been the person I mainly obeyed. But I realized it was always her who would choose the opposite side, which would constantly make me overthink and hesitate on most of my decisions, causing me to do things that could or could not have done. [...]"

RISKY BUSINESS

       "The most painful aspect of bullying is that it feels as if it’s relentless. Unless you’ve actually experiences bullying, you may not be fully aware just how devastating it can be, especially to a teenager or child. It may seem okay just to experience one scene of teasing or name calling. However when it goes on and on, a bully can turn something like walking down the hallways or going to the bus into a nightmare. Bullying leaves deep emotional scars and puts the person in constant fear. It’s not only they’re feelings that get hurt, but their schoolwork and health suffer as well because of their feelings of being totally undermined and stressed out. People shouldn’t bully because it’s troublesome for the victim, causing anxiety and constant distress that interferes with their ability to lead a normal life [...]"

Doing this essay and the essay itself helped me to learn and understand cyber bullying more. It gives the reader new insights to the perspectives of both sides of the argument. This essay was totally based on evidence through research of personal experiences and complex thinking. It opens up the minds of the people rarely talk about this situation.
